On Tuesday, the Gary Sinise Foundation shared a thank you video dedicated to “Forrest Gump”‘s Lt. Dan star Gary Sinise.
In the video, Sinise’s “Gump” co-star Tom Hanks joined Tim Allen, Kristen Chenoweth, Rob Lowe and many more celebs pay tribute to the actor, thanking him for his decades of work helping military service members, veterans and first responders.
Gen. Colin Powell said in the video: “Thank you for all the things you have done for our men and women who have served our nation. Not only what you’ve done for them but for their children, what you’ve done for their families, what you’ve done to help them rebuild their lives.”

Also included in the tribute are actual first responders, veterans and the families of service members.
“As you can see, we’re in front of this beautiful house right now,” one veteran says. “We wouldn’t have had it were it not for your kindness, graciousness and your wonderful gift of giving.”
Tuesday also saw the release of Sinise’s new book Grateful American.
