Kate Gosselin is returning to reality television, but this time she’s focusing on herself.
During the Television Critics Association (TCA) on Tuesday, the former “Kate Plus Eight” star, 43, chatted about her upcoming dating show “Kate Plus Date”.
Joined by twin daughters, Maddy and Cara, 18, on stage, Gosselin opened up about her decision to date on camera claiming it is for “the safety it provides.”
She then clarified that being on TV “opened up so many opportunities for our family.”
Gosselin, “It’s been great… essentially a family business that has allowed me to work with my kids, in and out of the frame.”
“Everything has good and bad,” she acknowledged, but the “goods overwhelm the bads.”

But when she focused on talking about the upcoming show, Gosselin admitted there were some bumps in the road, “This is a very real show in that I am looking for someone. This was a journey and it was really neat.”
She added, “I learned so much about myself.”
“Kate Plus Date” will premiere on TLC later this year.
