Do not count Caitriona Balfe among those on board with the Academy’s plans to condense the 2019 Oscars into three hours.
The Academy announced on Monday four Oscars would be presented during commercial breaks at this year’s ceremony. Those four awards are Cinematography, Editing, Hair and Makeup, and Live Action Shorts. The winning speeches are scheduled to air later in the broadcast.
“Outlander” star Caitriona Balfe said it is incredibly disrespectful to air commercials during award wins.
“Everyone should have their moment to shine,” she concluded. “If they deserve an Oscar they deserve their moment. It’s bulls**t!!!!”
