Hugh Grant has had the pleasure of acting alongside an list of brilliant leading ladies, but as he recently clarified on Friday’s episode of Graham Norton, they haven’t all been “sane.”

“Emma Thompson — clever, funny, mad as a chair,” Norton said, reading out a review Grant gave in an interview with Elle magazine. “Rene Zellweger, also far from sane.”

But what about his Music & Lyrics co-star Drew Barrymore. “[I] made her cry; hates me,” the host said as he continued reading out Grant’s reviews.

“She made the mistake of giving me notes…how would you take that?” he asked his fellow couch mate and Florence Foster Jenkins co-star Meryl Streep.
