UPDATE: Monday, Apr. 18 (9:50 a.m. ET) – Will Josh Charles be returning via flashback for the series finale of The Good Wife?

Exec producer Michelle King was asked that question during a Good Wife panel at the Tribeca Film Festival this weekend.

“I’ve heard that rumour,”; responded King. “I have also heard other rumous about the finale. I heard that Peter was going to be starting another affair. I heard that Alicia and Eli kissed. I heard that Alicia and Jason ran off happily together. And, I heard that Michelle Obama guest-starred.”;

She added: “I will tell you that one of those is true.”;

Back in 2013, viewers of The Good Wife watched in horror as Will Gardner was gunned down in a courtroom shooting that nobody saw coming in one of TV’s most shocking character deaths.

But could we possibly see Will one more time before the series wraps up for good next month?

That’s what TV Line is claiming, reporting that Josh Charles will be returning to reprise the role in the series finale, set to air May 8.

“Rumour has it he will appear opposite Julianne Margulies’ Alicia in a newly-created flashback sequence,”; states TV Line, adding, however, that “CBS would not confirm Charles’ return.”;

Whether Will returns in a flashback remains to be seen, but the countdown is on as the final few episodes air.
