The King of Rock and Roll isn’t dead, with the help of some of today’s biggest stars they are bringing “If I Can Dream” back to life.
As part of NBC’s upcoming “Elvis All-Star Tribute,” they have released one of the songs being performed. Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Post Malone, Hootie & The Blowfish’s Darius Rucker, and Shawn Mendes sporting an Elvis curl are all part of the gig.
The video starts with the footage from Elvis’ “1968 Comeback Special” where he is performing “If I Can Dream”. Each of the new stars then takes turns finishing off the performance.
The two-hour special will be sure to be one to watch as Jennifer Lopez singing “Heartbreak Hotel”, Ed Sheeran performing “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, John Legend for “A Little Less Conversation”, as well as Kelsea Ballerini, Alessia Cara, and Adam Lambert all join in.
The extravaganza will be hosted by Shelton and will feature interviews with Priscilla Presley and Steve Binder, the director of the 1968 special, rare footage of the star and a special appearance by Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
It airs this Sunday on NBC at 9pm.
