With the clock ticking down until the world gets to meet the first child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they have a slew of things they need to think about.
Over the weekend, things just got a little more expensive for the royal couple as the cost for a birth certificate in the United Kingdom has gone up.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with all the other families in the U.K, will now be paying £11 (just under $19 cad) per copy instead of the £4 it cost before.
For comparison in Canada, it costs $27 in British Columbia and $35 in Ontario.
According to Royal Central, it is likely we will get to see a copy of Baby Sussex’s birth certificate. A registrar will make the trip to Frogmore Cottage where Harry and Meghan will be living so they may sign the certificate. However, only one parent needs to do the signing, and with a good chance Buckingham Palace releases the paperwork for the public to see, we will be able to tell what parent got the honour.

Another thing that will be on their minds is what will Meghan list as her occupation. Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, put ‘Princess of the United Kingdom’ at the time of the births of her three children which caused a collection of debates if the Duchess is really a princess. Side note- she is by marriage, as in the UK she takes on the title of her husband making her Princess William, not Princess Kate.
For now, it will be more fun to guess. Boy or girl?
