Ellen DeGeneres curated a special audience for a once-in-a-lifetime surprise.

The daytime talk show host recently surprised a studio audience at “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with a whopping $1 million, per Daily Mail.

The special episode featured an audience chock-full of people who have done selfless acts for charity. DeGeneres decided to reward their good deeds with a seven-figure sum.

“I want to take a moment, first of all, to say everybody in the audience is here for a special reason,” she said. “All season long, I partnered with Cheerios to encourage people to do one million acts of good, and if you’re here in my audience, you helped us reach that goal.”

“I want to celebrate this amazing accomplishment and the incredible people in my audience today,” she continued. “You have something in common: this audience is filled with people who are making a difference in the world by sharing good.”

DeGeneres, 61, shared examples by singling out people in the audience. “Kenya and John Hughes, during Hurricane Harvey, John used their own money and drove 800 miles to deliver supplies,” the comedian explained. “Lori Gaines… She is a teacher, and she donated a kidney to the mother of a student just three weeks ago.”

“Dan McKernan. Dan quit his job to start a sanctuary for farm animals,” she said. “He has raised $150,000 for the farm animals.”

“You’re all going to share this gift. It’s the biggest gift I’ve ever given anybody ever, and I hope you continue to pay it forward and share all the good,” DeGeneres told the audience. “Hold on to your Cheerios, because all of you are splitting one million dollars!”

The crowd, as expected, roared with excitement and enthusiasm. There is no word on exactly how many people were in the audience or how the money will be split.
