Meghan Markle has made a surprise trip to New York City.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is in the final trimester of her pregnancy, travelled to the Big Apple for a girls trip and to attend her own baby shower.
Sources told Entertainment Tonight that the royal, who was pictured in a long black coat and skintight jeans Tuesday, is planning to be in NYC until the middle of the week, meeting 10 to 15 of her closest pals who will reportedly also be attending her shower.
“She’s been in town relaxing and buying baby clothes,” the insider said. “This will be the last time to see many of her friends before the baby is born.”
A source previously told Us Weekly that Markle dined at Laduree restaurant and bakery in the SoHo neighbourhood of Manhattan on Saturday: “They were having a lovely time, laughing and talking with each other.”
She was later spotted at a high-end children’s clothing store called Bonpoint.
Markle’s NYC friends are allegedly throwing the duchess the baby bash while she’s in town.
Another insider told Harper’s Bazaar, “The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves. This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meghan until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.”
On Tuesday, Markle’s fellow “Suits” star Abigail Spencer was spotted reportedly arriving to Markle’s baby shower carrying a blue bag, appearing to confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby boy.
Markle later had dinner with pal Serena Williams, who was spotted arriving to meet the duchess to dine at Polo Bar:
Markle will then have another baby shower when she returns home from her official trip to Morocco, royal correspondent Omid Scobie said.
