“Captain Marvel” is getting trashed on Rotten Tomatoes but most of the reviewers likely haven’t seen the movie.
Marvel Studio’s new movie stars Brie Larson and will not premiere in theatres until March 8. The audience section of Rotten Tomatoes, however, is littered with awful reviews.

“Larson has made it clear,” one reviewer wrote. “Men need not attend this movie.” Another chimed in, “This will be dreadful and yet the critics will praise the film because they get paid by Marvel.”
Much of the negative feedback is likely in response to criticisms Larson had about movie critics. “About a year ago, I started paying attention to what my press days looked like and the critics reviewing movies and noticed it appeared to be overwhelmingly white male,” Larson told Marie Claire. “Moving forward, I decided to make sure my press days were more inclusive.”

Rotten Tomatoes has yet to publicly address the influx of negative audience reviews.
