Jameela Jamil slammed Karl Lagerfeld not long after it was revealed he’d died at age 85 Tuesday morning.
Jamil, 32, who regularly promotes body positivity and slams celebs who tweet about things like diet pills, called the Chanel creative designer “a ruthless, fat-phobic misogynist.”
The actress shared a link to an article written about Lagerfeld and said she herself would be writing an essay.
Her post included, “Talented for sure, but not the best person.”
Jamil later insisted “you can’t cancel someone who is dead,” before she said you could simply point out that they shouldn’t be glorified if they’ve “never changed or apologized.”
Cara Delevingne joined an array of Twitter users to defend the fashion icon. Despite not naming Jamil, she posted:
Delevingne and Jamil then continued to have a debate online.
Jamil then insisted she was “sorry” if she hurt the model.
