“Schitt’s Creek” has taken off in a big way over the last year and, thanks to an amazing celebrity, it’s only getting bigger.
On Tuesday night, star Dan Levy appeared on Global’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to talk about his show’s sudden growth five seasons into its run.
“I don’t know how or why or where, but I’m glad it happened,” he said. “It feels great. I mean, most shows after five seasons get cancelled, and somehow we’re still around and doing better than ever, which is a wonderful, wonderful thing.”
Amazingly, last week Levy discovered that “Schitt’s Creek” even has a fan in none other than Mariah Carey, who tweeted about the show.
“It’s a particularly meaningful thing to me because as a young child she was everything to me,” Levy said of Carey’s tweet. “I know her entire catalogue, there were posters on the wall, it was a whole thing.”
Levy described having an “anxiety-induced panic” when he found out about the tweet.
