Meghan Markle reportedly flew back to the U.K. with Amal Clooney after her friends threw her a glamorous baby shower in New York.
Clooney was said to have paid for the $215,000 private jet flight as she was already heading back to Britain with her one-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.
A source told the Sun, “Meghan hitched a ride with Amal on the private jet. Amal was already flying back and covering all the costs so it made total sense.
“Amal was more than happy for Meghan to fly back with her and the kids.
“It’s absolutely not the case that the taxpayers or the Royal Family paid for the cost of the jet. The flight didn’t cost Meghan a thing.”
The insider also added of the baby bash, “The night was anything but low key. Meghan showed she can still hit the town.”
Clooney and Serena Williams were originally thought to have helped throw Markle the party, which was held at the lavish Mark Hotel in the city’s glamorous Upper East Side.
A source who reportedly attended the event has since told Harper’s Bazaar that the “private, intimate” bash was actually co-hosted by Williams and Genevieve Hillis.
They added that approximately “20 of Markle’s closest friends” were in attendance “from her teenage years to the present.”
Gayle King, Jessica Mulroney and Misha Nonoo were among those there.
The party was said to have been coordinated by Jennifer Zabinski, who planned Williams’ 2017 wedding to Alexis Ohanian.
