‘Black Panther’ Song ‘All The Stars’ Will Not Be Performed At Oscars

By Aynslee Darmon.

Despite being nominated for Best Orginal Song at Sunday’s Oscars, “All The Stars” from “Black Panther” will not be performed.

According to Deadline, the absence of the track — featuring Kendrick Lamar, Sounwave, Anthony Triffith and SZA — from the telecast has “nothing to with the running time of the telecast.”

The outlet reports that Lamar is actually out of the country, and has been for some time. “All The Stars” was also nominated for a Grammy, but Lamar did not preform it due to the same reason.

SZA reportedly offered to perform the song by herself, but Academy officials turned her down.

Back in January, AMPAS (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) announced performances of the Best Orginal Songs individually on Twitter: Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper for “A Star Is Born”‘s “Shallow”, Bette Midler singing “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from “Mary Poppins Returns”, Jennifer Hudson performing “I’ll Fight” from “RBG” and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings performing “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”. There was no mention of “All The Stars”.
