Speaking to Billboard, BASE Hologram chairman and CEO Brian Becker said that “in developing this type of highly ambitious, state of the art hologram/augmented reality theatrical event we encounter some unique challenges and sensitivities that cause us to take a step back.”
They are working on a production that is “a cross between a Broadway show and a concert spectacle” adding, it “requires creative engineering and that type of creativity does not necessarily follow a schedule.”
Becker promises the tour is only on hold until they “plot out a creatively spectacular production fitting of her remarkable career.”
Winehouse’s father, Mitch, gave his blessing for the tour which will feature a hologram Winehouse with live a live band and back up singers.
A portion of the proceeds with go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation that helps prevent the misuse of drugs and alcohol in youth.
