In this day and age, having a job for 35 years is a considerable accomplishment, but that is precisely what “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek has done.

He doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, having signed on until 2022, but when the time comes, he knows who should replace him.

Trebek, 78, was at an event marking his milestone, reports USA Today, when he told moderator Michael McKean that the next host should be “a woman, somebody younger, somebody bright, somebody personable, somebody with a great sense of humou — so I nominated Betty White.”

While it was all in good fun, he would love to see White, 97, host the game show at least for one night.

“There are so many talented people out there that could do the job,” Trebek went on, suggesting CNN’s Laura Coates, LA Kings announcer Alex Faust and TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz.
