Aubrey Plaza is taking over the 2019 Independent Spirit Awards.
The “Parks and Recreation” star opened the event with a spooky sketch. Plaza, 34, looked to sacrifice a victim to the “spirit” of the Spirit Awards. That victim turned out to be Canadian “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard.

Plaza — accompanied by Marcia Gay Harden, Christina Ricci, Roseanna Arquette, Sharon Stone, Marissa Tomei, and Brian Tyree Henry — prepared Wolfhard, 16, for the sacrifice.
“I’m not a virgin,” Wolfhard argued, trying his best to save himself from this sticky situation. “Women love me!” Unfortunately for fans of “Stranger Things”, Wolfhard was indeed sacrificed.

“I cannot believe they let me do that,” Plaza quipped during her opening monologue. “The network’s first choice to host was no one, but they’re already booked for tomorrow so you got me.”
In a separate sketch, Plaza and Jim O’Heir parodied the Fyre Festival documentaries “Fyre Fraud” and “Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened”.
