R. Kelly was arrested on Friday on sexual abuse charges and was released on Monday after posting $100,000 for bail, but Trevor Noah wasn’t sure how he felt about the news.
On “The Daily Show” Monday night, Noah explained, “It seems strange that they got him after all these years, you know? It’s like, if Wile E. Coyote finally caught the Road Runner, who is also a criminal, by the way. That bird has been smuggling drugs across the border for years, and Trump’s border wall isn’t going to stop him either, he’ll just paint a wall and ‘beep beep’ right through it.”
Noah also noted the fact that Kelly had difficulty raising the money for his bail.
“How is that possible? Now I think of his music completely differently; I thought ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ was a song about believing in yourself. Turns out this motherf**ker couldn’t afford a plane ticket.”
Noah also covered the Oscars from Sunday night, for which he was a presenter.
The host joked he was so starstruck that Helen Mirren literally punched him in the face.
Noah also brought up Best Picture winner “Green Book”.
“It’s being called the reverse ‘Driving Miss Daisy’,” Noah explained, “because the driver is white and the passenger is black.”
He joked, “And they drive in reverse, the whole movie.”

“The Daily Show” also put together a short clip of “Green Book” winning on Oscar night, edited to make it seem like the audience had a muted and annoyed reaction to the result.
