Jenna Fischer’s birthday is coming up next week, and so, for a special treat Busy Philipps invited the “Splitting Up Together” star to take part in an unboxing video on “Busy Tonight”.
What made the moment even more special is that the presents were from Fischer’s former “Office” co-stars, including Ellie Kemper, Angela Kinsey, and Ed Helms.
Philipps turned it into a game by making Fischer guess which gift came from which co-star. Of course, the banjo was from Helms. “‘Happy Birthday to you, here’s my own hobby,'” Philipps quipped.
The best present was left until last as the host directed Fischer over to a much bigger box placed in the middle of the studio. As the former Pam Beesly went to lift the lid, a real-life Steve Carell popped out of the box and scared the life out of his old workmate.
“I wasn’t expecting a human being to be in the box, and then on top of that, I was not expecting that human being to be Steve,” Fischer explained.
After the fear and laughter died down, it was a sweet reunion, as Carell and Fischer shared a hug. The “Beautiful Boy” star joked that he will be popping up in boxes across Los Angeles over the coming months.
