It’s a sad day for Mayte Garcia, who mourns the sudden death of her former husband Prince.

Garcia and Prince first met in 1990 when she was hired to dance on one of his tours, and the two wed in 1996. The 42-year-old singer and dancer was the inspiration for Prince’s hit song “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”;.
“I can’t even think of the words of what I’m feeling,”; Garcia told People. “This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated.”;

In 1996, Garcia mourned another loss: the death of her son Gregory with Prince. The former couple’s son was born to Pfeiffer syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that prevents the skull from growing normally and affects the shape of the head, hands and feet.
“I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally,”; she said. “He’s with our son now.”;
