Luke Perry is currently hospitalized after suffering what appears to have been a serious stroke.
The “Riverdale” star’s rep has confirmed to ET Canada that the actor is currently in hospital under observation. Despite reports saying Perry is in a medically induced coma, his rep tells ET Canada “he is not in a coma.”
In a statement to ET, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed someone was transported to hospital from Perry’s home in the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday: “We received a 911 call at 9:39 a.m. yesterday [Feb. 27], responding to the address you mentioned, for an unspecified medical aid request. The firefighters and paramedics from our department responded and one ambulance transported to an area hospital.”
According to The Blast, the 911 call referenced Perry’s address and mentioned a “stroke victim.”
Friends, celebrities and fans have been paying tribute to the actor on social media.
Perry, 52, has been playing Archie’s dad Fred Andrews on “Riverdale” since 2016. And on Wednesday Fox announced a reboot of “Beverly Hills, 90210”, but Perry had not signed on to appear on the reboot of the show that propelled him to fame.
The actor shares two children, 18-year-old Sophie and 21-year-old Jack, with his ex-wife Rachel Sharp. He was married to Sharp from 1993 to 2003.
