When a man on Twitter make a Super Bowl bet with Canadian tennis star, Genie Bouchard, that if the Patriots win they would go on a date, it is a safe assumption he wasn’t expecting the tale to be made into a movie.

Fox 2000 has picked up the romantic comedy from Jonathan A. Abrams about the modern love story.

During the 2017 Super Bowl, Bouchard got a little too confident and tweeted “I knew Atlanta would win btw” when the Atlanta Falcons took the lead over the New England Patriots.

John Goehrke, a Patriots fan, responded “if patriots win we go on a date?” to which Bouchard agreed.

Spoiler alert, the Patriots won 34-28 and Bouchard was good to her word. The tennis star flew Goehrke to New York where they attended a Brooklyn Nets game.

The couple continued to see each other and attended Super Bowl LII together to watch the Patriots lose to the Philadelphia Eagles. From their social media feeds, the two have remained friends to this day.

Bouchard, 25, will act as an executive producer says Deadline.
