Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson are starring together in “Captain Marvel”, but those who tuned into the U.K. talk show on which they appeared may have thought the pair had also been in “A Star Is Born”.
During their Saturday appearance on ITV’s “The Jonathan Ross Show”, host Jonathan Ross pointed out that Larson is a singer, and actually released an album — titled Finally Out of P.E. — when she was 16.
After a brief performance of “Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “Cats”, Larson was joined by Jackson for a duet, with the pair performing a… let’s say unique… rendition of the Oscar-winning single “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born”, attempting to replicate the intimate Academy Awards performance delivered by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
The duo hit a bit of a challenge after the chorus when Larson sings, “I don’t know the other words,” and, unlike the Gaga-Cooper Oscars performance, the rest of the song hilariously falls apart.
