For the second consecutive weekend, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” has held the top spot at the box office.

According to Box Office Mojo, the animated sequel raked in just over $30 million domestically in its second weekend of release, for a domestic total of $97.6 million.

Also making a strong showing was “A Madea Family Funeral”, which landed in second place. Demonstrating the enduring popularity in the franchise, the umpteenth “Madea” movie from star/director Tyler Perry brought in an impressive first-weekend domestic opening of $27 million.

Coming in at #3 is “Alita: Battle Angel”, which added $7 million in its third week of release for a domestic total to date of $72.2 million, a disappointing number for a film that reportedly cost more than $200 million to make.

The weekend’s fourth-place film is “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part”, which added $6.6 million in its fourth weekend for a domestic total of $91.7 million.

Rounding out the top five is “Green Book”, which demonstrated a 121-per-cent increase over its previous week — thanks, no doubt, to its Best Picture Oscar win — to bring in $4.7 million over the weekend, increasing the film’s overall domestic tally to $75.9 million.
