International Women’s Day is March 8 and the celebrations are kicking off.

In a new campaign put out by global humanitarian organization CARE, several celebrities are teaming up to tell the world “Who Puts the Her in Hero”.

Kelly Clarkson, Sophia Bush, Jess Glynne, Kimberley Locke, Bellamy Young, Rita Angel Taylor, Nicole Maines, Iman, and many more powerful women appear in the video in which CARE asks each woman who puts the “Her” in “Hero” for them.

The empowering video features celebrities alongside CARE’s heroes from all over the world sharing that bold, courageous, empowered women are capable of anything.

Several celebrities chose their mom as their hero, including Kelly Clarkson: “She had no education and really worked her tail off and made something of herself and became an incredible teacher.”

Actress Nicole Maines also thanks her mother, saying, “She never made me feel like I was wrong for being who I am, a transgender child.”

While Aisha Hinds simply shouted out all women: “Ordinary women doing extraordinary things.”

CARE wants to recognize that when strong women are given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, they are the catalysts for change and inspirational forces for their families and communities.

This International Women’s Day, CARE is asking everyone who puts the “Her” in “Hero”. It wants to recognize the unsung heroes around the world by creating a conversation.
