Chyna’s brain is set to benefit a scientific study about repeated chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), the New York Daily News reports.
The late wrestler’s manager, Anthony Anzaldo, revealed this week that Dr. Bennet Omalu approached him following Chyna’s death.
Omalu, whose story was portrayed by Will Smith in the film “Concussion,” previously contacted Chyna to discuss the possibility of studying the effects of her wrestling career on her body.
“When she died, they called me again and asked, “Can we have her brain,'”; Anzaldo told the New York Daily News. “My hope is that we can do it. I’m in the process of getting the permission to speak on behalf of family to tell the coroner it’s okay to release it.”;
Anzaldo found Chyna dead at her Redondo Beach, California home on Thursday, with bottles of Ambien and anti-anxiety pills close by. “There was nothing illegal. No alcohol. It was just those two prescriptions she was legally taking,” he said. “I saw no indication of foul play, no vomit, no blood. She was just lying there peacefully. Of course she’s had issues and posted things (online), but I just don’t think it was intentional.”

According to Anzaldo, cameras from “The Reconstruction of Chyna”; — a documentary following Chyna’s emotional issues— were rolling when he discovered her body. “Me walking in was shot. I would never show me finding her, but you might hear me,”; he revealed.
The documentary will continue to film during the investigation of her death. “She would not have had it any other way,” Anzaldo said.
