For fans waiting for “Sherlock Holmes 3”, the wait will be a bit longer.
The Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law sequel that had a release date of December 2020 is being pushed back by an entire year.
Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow announced that the third instalment will come out on Dec. 22, 2021.
The first two films, “Sherlock Holmes” (2009) and “A Game Of Shadows” (2011) were big successes with the sequel grossing over $545 million worldwide. Downey also won a Golden Globe for the first movie.
Downey and Law will both be reprising their roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, respectively.
Downey has been busy filming “Avengers: Endgame”, “The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle”, and “All-Star Weekend”.

Law has multiple movies coming out, including, “Captain Marvel”, “The Rhythm Section”, and the Woody Allen film “A Rainy Day In New York”.
It is expected that Guy Ritchie will once again direct the third movie.
