Paige is not about to let Florence Pugh be body-shamed.
Pugh, 23, plays WWE superstar Paige in the comedy-drama “Fighting with my Family”. The film is based on a 2012 documentary depicting Paige’s professional wrestling career and is executive-produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

A critic for the Evening Standard reviewed the film but is facing backlash for focusing on Pugh’s body shape. “Her character is based on real-world WWE champion Paige, whose legs are significantly slimmer,” wrote the critic. They noted how Pugh had “chunky thighs.”

Another celebrity who stood by Pugh is the often-outspoken body activist Jameela Jamil. “Good point. Well made,” she wrote in support of the 23-year-old actress.
“Fighting With My Family” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 28. It received positive reviews and a theatrical release on Feb. 22.
