Disney’s sequel to “Maleficent” with Angelina Jolie will arrive in theatres sooner than expected.
Previously slated for a May 2020 release, “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” will now be playing on October 18, 2019.
The good news comes with the unveiling of a brand new poster for the dark fantasy flick that puts Jolie’s evil enchantress front and centre.
A follow-up to the 2014 original, “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” further explores the complex relationship between Maleficent and Aurora (Elle Fanning), otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty, as they face new threats to their magical land of the Moors.
In addition to Jolie and Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville will all reprise their roles from the original film. Some new faces will enter the Disney sequel, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
