The DeLorean is one of the most iconic cars of all time thanks to its appearance in “Back to the Future”, but now audiences will finally get to see the dark story behind the futuristic automobile.

On Wednesday, IFC Films released the first trailer for “Framing John DeLorean”, a new feature film/documentary hybrid starring Alec Baldwin as disgraced auto exec John DeLorean.

As the trailer reveals, the film features a unique combination of documentary archival footage and interviews mixed with more traditional biopic elements featuring actors.

“Framing John DeLorean” captures DeLorean’s life as he rises through the ranks at General Motors before starting his own car company, all the way until his arrest for cocaine trafficking.

The film also stars Josh Charles, Morena Baccarin, Dean Winters, Jason Jones and Michael Rospoli, and is directed by Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce.

“Framing John DeLorean” is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival beginning at the end of April, and hits theatres June 7.
