Canadian-born actress and star of the upcoming “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage”;, Nina Dobrev has confirmed her involvement in a remake of the 1990s classic “Flatliners”;, that starred Kiefer Sutherland and Julia Roberts.
Speaking with ET Canada’s Sangita Patel, Dobrev says the role is a real blessing: “It’s exciting to be part of the reboot. The script is really good. There are similarities and there are differences. We are all Harvard medical students.”;
And that role presents a new challenge to the young actress, who says reading the script was more like studying for an exam. “There’s a lot of medical. There are a lot of words and terms that I had to learn for this role,” she tells Sangita. “They were very hard to pronounce.”;
Filming “Flatliners”; will give Dobrev the chance to work with another rising Canadian actress, Ellen Page. “I’m actually very excited about that,” says Dobrev. “I’ve followed her career and been a fan of hers for a very long time.”;
The 27-year-old actress also spoke about her ongoing prank war with “xXx”; co-star, Ruby Rose, saying the craziness all began to prove a point: “Ruby said something about how nobody could get her or nobody could trip her. I was like “challenge accepted.'”
Dobrev and Rose will star alongside Vin Diesel in “xXX: The Return of Xander Cage”; coming out early next year.
