Fox is beginning to unveil its plans for the upcoming fall season, announcing the network has placed series orders for the highly anticipated reboot of “24”; as well as a new drama set in the world of pop music from “Empire”; creator Lee Daniels.

“24: Legacy”;  is described as “the next chapter in the groundbreaking and award-winning action series,”; but will not feature Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer (although Sutherland is one of the exec producers on “Legacy”;).

Taking Bauer’s place will be Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”) as a young CTU agent on an “adrenaline-fueled race against the clock to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil,”; with this reboot utilizing the same real-time format as the original “24”;. Also starring are Miranda Otto (“Homeland”) and Jimmy Smits (“Sons of Anarchy”).

The latest from Lee Daniels, “Star”; follows three talented young singers as they “navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success,”; featuring “original music along with stunning musical fantasy sequences as the girls dream of their future.”;

The ambitious trio will played by newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady, joined by Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt, along with rocker Lenny Kravitz (“The Hunger Games”;) as a recurring guest star.
