Fans of the Disney classic “Aladdin” have been getting quick glimpses of what’s in store with the upcoming live-action remake, and finally the first full look is here.
On Tuesday, the studio dropped the trailer, which recreates many of the most beloved sequences in the original animated film, including the opening chase through Agrabah, the journey into the Cave of Wonders, meeting the Genie, as well as Aladdin taking Jasmine on that fateful magic-carpet ride.
Along with getting to hear a bit of Will Smith performing “Friend Like Me”, the new trailer also features the soaring “A Whole New World”, performed by Canada’s own Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Jasmine.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film also stars Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.
Original “Aladdin” composer Alan Menken returns with new versions of the classic songs, along with two new songs created for the remake.
The new trailer also lit up social media.
“Aladdin” hits theatres May 24.
