It was a tense situation for Chicago police on Tuesday when officers responded to a call indicating that R. Kelly’s girlfriend Azriel Clary and some other women were about to carry out a “suicide pact,” with the call ultimately turning out to be a false alarm.

As People reports, police received an anonymous call (that was later shared online) in which the caller tells officers that Clary and “four other women, who are victims of R. Kelly are planning to carry out a suicide pact at one of the condos at Trump Tower.”

The caller, notes People, did not specify when the supposed suicide would take place, or in which unit in the building it would occur.

Emergency responders arrived at the Trump Tower on North Wabash just before 5:30 p.m., Chicago PD confirmed to People in a statement.

“Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact,” the statement reads. “Police on scene conducting a wellness check and it is not a bona fide incident.”

Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, was approached for comment, and told People, “It is offensive that anyone gives this any credibility.”

R. Kelly is currently facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, and will return to court on March 22.
