‘Jeopardy!’ Resumes Taping Following Alex Trebek’s Cancer Diagnosis Announcement

Alex Trebek said he was going back to work and he meant it.

A week after revealing to the world his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis, the Canadian game-show host is back on set taping new episodes, CNN reports.

“We are taping today, and Alex is here and behind his lectern as scheduled,” a spokeswoman for the show said.

Trebek revealed his diagnosis last Wednesday, acknowledging that the rate of survival in his case is low, but telling fans, “I’m going to fight this. And I’m going to keep working, and with the love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers, also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”

He also joked that he has to beat the disease because of his contract with “Jeopardy!”, which goes through 2022.

Trebek, who has hosted the game show for 35 years, was met with an outpouring of support from fans and celebrities in the wake of his announcement.
