The Canadian “Hobo with a Shotgun” actor teamed up with PETA to help dogs who are forced to live outside by their owners.

“What I found shocking is people don’t realize that what they’re doing to the dogs is wrong,” Bateman said. “They just think it’s normal to just tie their dog up outside.”

“I’m happy I was able to come out today and experience this and do my part and help out,” he continued. “These guys do this every day so the hats off to them ’cause they’re the real heroes.”

The Canadian actor and model helped repair doghouses and bring hay to chilly dogs in need in rural North Carolina, according to PETA.

Bateman, who boasts 6.5 million Instagram followers, will make his Hallmark debut later this month in “A Brush with Love”.
