Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander is someone who exudes self-confidence — and she knows it.
“In this industry, you must be willing to throw yourself out there, which I enjoy. I’m good at hiding all those nerves inside. Something I’ve heard all my life is, ‘Oh, you seem so tough.’ I think one of the main things I do well is to not show that I’m s***ting my pants,” the 30-year-old says.
The Swedish actress is on the cover of the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar where she reveals why she deleted her Instagram account after one month on the social platform.
“I realized early on that social media was not good for me,” the notoriously private actress says. “I personally didn’t find the joy in it.”
She and husband Michael Fassbender are well known for keeping their personal lives out of the spotlight.
“Every time I do press, I’m suddenly met with the reality of my fame,” she explains. “I sometimes forget how my life has changed.”
The couple relocated to Lisbon, Portugal, following their 2017 wedding, spending their day enjoying what their adopted home has to offer.
“I was brought up in a very cold, dark country, and Portugal is the opposite,” she shares. “My husband loves to surf, so we like being close to the sea.”
