There is no end to content this year based on Charles Manson but “Charlie Says” looks to stand out from the pack with an impressive cast.
“Doctor Who” and “The Crown” star Matt Smith plays the infamous cult leader in IFC Films’ new trailer for “Charlie Says”. Smith delivers a convincing performance in the snippet as the enigmatic Manson. “Game of Thrones” actress Hannah Murray stars as Leslie Van Houten. Sosie Bacon, daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, and Suki Waterhouse both have roles as well.

A synopsis for the film reads, “Years after the shocking murders that made the name Charles Manson synonymous with pure evil, the three women who killed for him — Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkel and Susan Atkins — remain under the spell of the infamous cult leader.
“Confined to an isolated cellblock, the trio seem destined to live out the rest of their lives under the delusion that their crimes were part of a cosmic plan. Until an empathetic graduate student attempts to rehabilitate them.”
