Bryan Adams Reveals The NSFW True Meaning Of ‘Summer Of 69’

Bryan Adams appeared on New Zealand’s “Seven Sharp” talk show and cracked up the hosts during a discussion of his hit song “Summer of 69”.

One of the show’s hosts had clearly done his homework, cleverly deducing that the Canadian rocker — who was born in November 1959 — would only have been a mere 9 years old during that particular summer.

“It’s not about the year,” Adams revealed. “It’s a metaphor. I never said 1969.”

“Oh,” said the host, surprised at the salacious direction the conversation just took. “It’s a metaphor for that?”

Quipped Adams, “It’s a metaphor for a great summer.”

To which the host interjected, “Of love?”

“Summer of love. Exactly!” Adams responded. “Thank you very much.”

Truth be told, this isn’t the first time Adams has insisted the song is about sex, not nostalgia. In fact, he divulged the naughty meaning behind the song more than a decade ago during an appearance on “The Early Show”, explaining the song “uses 69 as a sexual reference.” Watch:
