Julia Roberts Says She Doesn’t Think You Could Make ‘Pretty Woman’ In 2019 — Here’s Why

It’s one of the most well-known rom-coms out there but “Pretty Woman” couldn’t be made in this day and age — at least that’s according to its star.

The 51-year-old, who played a prostitute called Vivian in the flick, told the Guardian’s G2 magazine: “I don’t think you could make that movie now, right? So many things you could poke a hole in, but I don’t think it takes away from people being able to enjoy it.”

She added, when talking about how numerous other stars turned down the role, “It really is not a measure of talent, particularly in the beginning.

“It’s a measure of good fortune – and being able to have your wits about you enough to make something out of that good fortune,” Roberts shared, according to the Daily Mail.

One film that she did almost turn down was “Notting Hill”, Roberts admitted.

She said of the hugely successful film: “I did not want to do that movie. The pitch of it sounds awful.

“Do you want to come and play the world’s biggest movie star and then fall in love with the bookshop owner? No!”
