Soulja Boy is back in jail after police searched his home and found a cache of ammunition — a violation of the terms of his parole for an earlier weapons charge.
As TMZ reports, the “Crank That” rapper arrived to meet his probation officer on Friday morning and was promptly handcuffed and placed under arrest.
The reason, TMZ reminds, is that Soulja Boy, 28, is still under probation for felony weapons charges after police found an assault weapon and a stolen police handgun at his home in 2016 — a violation of the terms of his probation on an earlier weapons charge, which led a judge to extend his parole.
According to the terms of his parole, Soulja Boy (whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way) cannot possess weapons nor ammunition, which became a problem last month when a woman claimed the rapper held her hostage, tying her to a chair for several hours (his manager has denied her claims).
Police were called to investigate and, in the course of their search, discovered the stash of ammo — which Soulja Boy is not allowed to possess.
Rather than arrest him on the spot, police instead waited until he checked in with his probation officer, making the arrest then.
According to TMZ, Soulja Boy is currently behind bars and will appear in court on Friday.
