Alice Cooper is defending his friend and bandmate Johnny Depp against the negative press saying that everything you have read is “untrue” about the actor.
The two play together in the band Hollywood Vampires and Cooper is tired of the image that the media is painting of Depp.
“All the stuff you heard last year about Johnny, 99 per cent was just bull,” Cooper told news.com.au.
Depp and Cooper are currently getting ready to tour the UK with their band. The singer says “almost everything” is “untrue.” He lists the rumours that he is 90 lbs, a drug addict and that he is out of money are all “not the case”.
Cooper adds that the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” star has never “[looked] better.”
“I’ve never seen him happier. I’ve never heard him play better, and the way the press would have it is he’s a total destruction and ready to die. Totally not true,” he continued.
According to Cooper, Depp writes most of the band’s songs and uses his personal life as inspiration. “A lot of it is Johnny Depp’s writing and there’s a lot of venom in his lyrics because of all the crap that went on,” he said.
Depp is in the middle of a long list of allegations and lawsuits between his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Heard claims she is a victim of domestic abuse, a statement Depp’s legal team calls a “hoax.” His legal team has launched a $50 million defamation suit against the actress.
