John Oliver Takes Swipe At Jay Leno Over Those Late-Night TV Comments

John Oliver did not hold back as he discussed Jay Leno’s talk-show remarks on Sunday’s “Last Week Tonight”.

Leno recently hit headlines after suggesting late-night television had become too political since he stopped hosting “The Tonight Show”.

Oliver then mentioned the star during a segment on public shaming, taking a jab at Leno’s former comments about Monica Lewinsky and her Oval Office sex encounters with then-president Bill Clinton.

Oliver’s Leno jibes included one about “Lewinsky getting back on her feet,” and another about people’s clothes being “stickier than Monica Lewinsky” because it was so humid.

He added that Leno had said during his “Third Hour of Today” interview, “I’d just like to see a bit of civility come back to it, you know?”

Oliver proceeded to show a skit Leno had done featuring Lewinsky on the cover of a book as “the slut in a hat,” before he quipped: “And, if that’s what he means by civility, may I offer my new book: ‘Oh the Places You Can Go F**k Yourself, Jay Leno!'”

The British host wasn’t the only one to discuss Leno’s comments, with the likes of Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert also mentioning them and Donald Trump’s response last week.
