Quentin Tarantino’s films have produced some iconic movie posters, but early indication online suggests “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” will not be one of those.

Sony Pictures has released the first official movie poster for Tarantino’s highly-anticipated ninth film and the response has been lukewarm. The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” poster features Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio standing in front of a yellow car and a backdrop of Hollywood.

On Tuesday, the studio released a poster with Margot Robbie, who plays murdered actress Sharon Tate.

Tarantino fans had lofty expectations, considering the legendary status of his “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill” posters, and it seems his latest project fell short – at least when it comes to the posters.

One fan noted how Pitt is dressed like Jim Carrey in the poster, while the other said it looked like Pitt was playing Matthew McConaughey and DiCaprio was playing Pitt.

It may be easy for some to poke fun at the film’s poster, but the online community might have more trouble teasing the star-studded cast of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. The film stars Pitt and DiCaprio, as well as Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, Lena Dunham, Rumer Willis, and the late Luke Perry.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” premieres July 26 in theatres.
