Woody and Buzz are making new friends, including a very special one from Canada.
In the first full trailer for “Toy Story 4”, fans of the Pixar series finally get a look at the story of the new film.
Things get started when the toys’ child Bonnie literally makes a new toy out of a plastic spork.
“Forky is the most important toy to Bonnie right now,” Woody says. “We all have to make sure nothing happens to him.”
Very quickly, though, Forky escapes from the RV Bonnie and her family are travelling in, and Woody jumps out to follow him. They end up bumping into Bo Peep, who has been making it on her own for several years.
Bo Peep shows the toys the wonders of a nearby amusement park, which is where Woody and Buzz meet Duke Caboom, a toy from the 1970s based on Canada’s greatest stuntman, voiced by real-life Canuck Keanu Reeves.
“The first time [director Josh Cooley] and I talked with Keanu about the role, Keanu became Duke Caboom,” producer Jonas Rivera says. “Keanu was asking great questions that dug deep to find the soul of the character. At one point he stood up on the table in the middle of Pixar’s atrium and struck poses while proclaiming victory. It was so funny. It’s all in the movie and it’s all Keanu.”
“Toy Story 4” is out in theatres June 29, and also stars Tim Allen, along with new cast members Tony Hale as Forky, Christina Hendricks, Ally Maki, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jordan Peele.
