The TV series “Angel” remains a favourite with fans, with continual calls for a cast reunion of the David Boreanaz-starring “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff.

While that hasn’t happened yet, Boreanaz hints that fans will have cause to celebrate in the fall, when the vampire detective series will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Appearing on Tuesday’s edition of Global‘s “The Talk” to discuss his current series, “SEAL Team”, Boreanaz dropped a big hint about a possible reunion.

“I will say, there may be something coming up. I don’t want to give away a lot,” the 49-year-old actor revealed.

“I can say, it’s 20 years coming up this fall and we may have something in the works,” he added.

Discussing his iconic role, Boreanaz reflected on how being cast on “Buffy” launched his acting career.

“We’re coming up on our 20 years,” he said of show. “I mean, that’s amazing to have been blessed with a show like that and that’s really where I started my gig in this acting world. I love that character.”

Boreanaz’s chat on “The Talk” is serving to fuel the fire lit at last month’s Wizard World Comic Con Portland, when several former “Buffy”/”Angel” actors posted group photos on social media and sparked rumours of a potential reunion.

“The Talk” airs weekdays at 2 p.m. ET/PT on Global; you can also watch full episodes online.
