With less than a month left before the long-awaited return of “Game of Thrones”, there are many questions on fans’ minds, and online betting site Bovada is laying odds on some of the most pressing questions surrounding the upcoming eighth and final season.
The folks behind Visme, a data visualization tool, have correlated Bovada’s data and come up with some intriguing guesses about three key questions surrounding “Game of Thrones”: which character will be the first to die in season 8; who will ultimately wind up seated on the Iron Throne of Westeros; and who would be Westeros’ most effective leader.

According to Bovada’s data, Visme’s odds-on favourite when it comes to which character will kick the bucket first is Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk), leading the pack at a probability of more than 40 per cent. In fact, season 8 appears to be a bad time for Greyjoys, with Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) next in line with a 25 per cent probability, followed by Theon (Alfie Allen) at 16.7 per cent.
Least likely to be the first character killed off: Jon Snow (Kit Harington), with a probability of just one per cent — although how shocking would it be for the King in the North to buy the farm in the first episode?
When it comes to who will be sitting on the Iron Throne after all the dust — or snow, as the case may be — has settled, Visme offers a surprising pick: Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who holds a 25 per cent probability of ruling Westeros, followed by Jon Snow with 22.2 per cent and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) at 16.7 per cent.
As for who would be the most effective leader of Westeros, that’s another story altogether, according to the following chart:
The eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones” premieres Sunday, April 17.
