Prince Harry spoke in Toronto this morning to launch the countdown to the 2017 Invictus Games, telling the packed crowd in attendance that the games will be “your chance, your opportunity to salute those who put themselves in harm’s way so you don’t have to.”;
He added: “On home soil during this most auspicious of years, as Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary, and remembers the events and sacrifices at Vimy Ridge, you’ll have the chance to cheer on the custodians of that proud history.”;
The Toronto games, said Harry, “are going to be, I’m promised, the biggest and best Invictus Games yet.”;
Also speaking was Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, who referenced the games’ Latin moniker, which means “unconquered.”;
“These individuals are, as the name of the event suggests, unconquerable,” said Trudeau.
The 2017 Invictus Games will be held in Toronto in September, 2017.
