Bebe Rexha joined Brooke Reese on Apple Music’s Beats 1, and the “Meant to Be” singer revealed that she auditioned for the upcoming film “Hustlers” but didn’t end up getting cast.
“I auditioned for a movie recently but I didn’t get it… I auditioned for the ‘Hustlers’ movie,” Rexha told Reese. “I was supposed to be the Russian girl, I don’t know who… from New York. But I’m not a good actor, I’m not.”
One person who’s happy Rexha didn’t get the role, she explains, is her mother. “It was funny, my mom was not happy about it though. She’s like, ‘You can’t play a stripper, no.’ I’m like, ‘Well why not?'”
Rexha also discusses a role she did land, a voice role in the animated comedy “UglyDolls”, which comes out in May. “I have an animation movie coming out, ‘UglyDolls’ with Kelly Clarkson and Pitbull and Blake Shelton and Janelle Monae and… a whole thing,” she said.

“I actually play one of Nick Jonas’ minions, we’re in the place of perfection and the UglyDolls make their way to us and we’re so mean and then the whole thing happens and it’s crazy, but it’s cute,” she added. “I wanted to do something that was meaningful.”
