If Gordon Ramsay’s kids were hoping to join the family business, they could think again. The famously foul-mouthed chef has said that his children can “f**k off to another chef” if they want to work in the restaurant business.
While on a radio show in the United States, Ramsay added he refuses to “pander to the snowflake generation”, and his kids would have to learn from a different chef and prove themselves before he would hire them.
Ramsay, 52, is the father to four children, Megan, 21, Matilda, 17 and twins Jack and Holly, 19. He is also expecting a fifth child with his wife, Tana, who he has been married to since 1996.
He added, “It’s like not employing the kids. I don’t want the staff thinking: ‘F**k it’s Ramsay’s kid, we can’t tell them off’.”
“You want to work in this business? You f**k off to another chef, learn something different and come back with something new to improve the business.”
The “Hell’s Kitchen” host explained that he is “firm” but “fair” so anyone working with him can reach the “very top”. “I take a lot of flak for being straight and honest, but I’m not worried about that f**king snowflake generation.”
He didn’t note if any of his kids actually want to be chefs.
